Derreen Wood and Lough Meelagh are within a short drive of where I live and each year in April/May they produce a display of Bluebells which never ceases to amaze. People travel from all over the region to see the Derreen Wood display in particular.
These pictures were taken at both locations and I recommend a visit to see this fantastic display for yourself.
Derreen Wood is really worth a drive and is easily reached, located just off the N4 at Ardcarne, Boyle. Lough Meelagh is ten minutes further down the road towards Keadue from there.
